Strengths and trade-offs

Strengths

  • The heated humidifier is built in, with a 290 mL tank and an Auto humidity setting.
  • Auto Start and Auto Stop mean you can start therapy by breathing into the mask and stop it by taking the mask off.
  • You can check your usage, AHI and mask seal on the screen without a computer.
  • OSCAR added Resvent support in version 1.5.0, and the loader notes say the iBreeze 20A works.
  • It uses a standard 15 mm tube out of the box, with 19 mm and 19 mm heated tubes as options.

Trade-offs

  • It weighs about 3 lb and is a bedside machine, not a travel unit.
  • As of our check, the 20A's US sales were documented under a COVID-19 Emergency Use Authorization; the July 2026 510(k) clearance names the 20C model.
  • The SD card slot accepts only a Resvent card; the manual says other cards must be formatted before use.
  • The Resvent documents we reviewed list no battery for the iBreeze, so off-grid use is not documented.
  • The manual says to use only Resvent recommended masks and accessories, which narrows your choices if you follow it strictly.

Comfort settings you can change

These are in the patient menu. Your prescribed pressure and therapy mode are set by your clinician and are not covered here.

Humidity

Sets how much moisture the heated humidifier adds. Options are Auto, Off and 1 to 8; the default is 3.

How to change it: On the standby screen turn the dial to the humidity icon and press it, turn to choose the level and press to confirm. During therapy there is a humidity shortcut on the therapy screen. The level can only be set when the tank has water above the minimum line.

Preheat

Warms the humidifier in standby for up to 30 minutes so the air is already warm and moist when you start. It turns off on its own if the water is low.

How to change it: Press Comfort on the standby screen, turn to Preheat and switch it On or Off. It is not available on the iBreeze 20C.

Ramp pressure (P Ramp)

Sets the lower pressure that ramp starts at, in 0.5 cm H2O steps up to your therapy pressure. The default is 4 cm H2O.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to P Ramp, press the dial, turn to the value and press to confirm.

Ramp time

Sets how long the machine takes to rise from ramp pressure to your therapy pressure, 0 to 60 minutes in 5 minute steps. 0 turns ramp off; the default is 15 minutes.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to Ramp Time and set the minutes. Press the Ramp key during therapy to start a ramp.

IPR (Intelligent Pressure Release)

Lowers pressure as you breathe out to make exhaling easier. Options are Off and 1 to 3; the default is 2.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to IPR and choose the level.

Auto Start

Starts therapy automatically when the machine detects you breathing through the mask. On by default.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to Auto Start and choose On or Off.

Auto Stop

Stops therapy if the mask is off for more than 5 seconds. On by default.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to Auto Stop and choose On or Off.

Tube type and mask type

Tells the machine whether you use a 15 mm or 19 mm tube and a full face, nasal or pillows mask, so it can compensate correctly.

How to change it: Press Comfort, turn to Tube Type (15 mm or 19 mm) and Mask Type (Full Face, Nasal or Pillow), and pick the ones you use.

Reminders

Pops up a reminder to replace your mask, filter, water tank or tube, or to schedule maintenance.

How to change it: Press Setting on the standby screen, turn to Reminder and switch on the reminders you want with their dates.

Cleaning and care

  1. Every day

Empty the water tank when you are not using the machine, and refill it with fresh room temperature distilled or purified water before bed. After humidified therapy the machine runs a short drying flow on its own; let it finish.

  2. Water tank and tube, weekly

Remove the tube and water tank. Wash them gently in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and let them air dry out of direct sunlight or heat. Resvent also says to clean both before first use and to descale the tank as needed.

  3. Outside of the machine, weekly

Unplug the power cord from the wall first. Wipe the outside clean, never put the machine in any liquid, and keep water out of the openings. Check the machine and tube for damage afterward.

  4. Air filter, monthly

Resvent's schedule is to clean the air filter monthly, check it every 1 to 3 months and replace it every 6 months, or sooner if it has holes or is clogged. Never put a wet filter back in; let it dry completely.

  5. Replacing parts

Resvent's schedule lists replacing the tube once a year, and replacing the water tank if it cracks or is in poor condition. Your insurer may cover replacements on a different schedule.

Replacement parts

Tubing
15 mm tube is standard; 19 mm and 19 mm heated tubes are optional. Set Tube Type in Comfort to match. Resvent's schedule lists replacing the tube yearly.
Filters
Reusable air filter (filter cotton). Clean monthly, check every 1 to 3 months, replace every 6 months or when damaged or clogged.
Water chamber
One-piece removable water tank, 290 mL maximum. Replace it if it cracks or is in poor condition.
Replacement notes
The manual says to use only masks and accessories recommended by Resvent and only a Resvent SD card. Order through the supplier who provided your machine or Resvent USA (913-908-7007), and check how often your insurer covers each part.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happens when you plug it in and the key lights stay dark.

Check that the outlet works, the AC cord is fully in the power supply and the supply plug is fully in the machine. If it still does not start, return both the machine and the power supply to your provider so they can tell which one failed.

Air leaks around your mask.

Refit the mask using its instructions, then run Mask Fit from the standby screen to check the seal. Also make sure Mask Type in Comfort matches your mask.

Your nose feels dry or blocked.

Raise the humidity level or try Auto, and check that the tank has water. Turning on Preheat warms the humidifier before you start.

Water droplets in the mask or tube (rainout).

Lower the humidity level. Keep the machine below your head and keep the tube away from cold air; a heated tube is an option for this machine.

Your mouth is very dry.

Air may be escaping through your mouth. Raise the humidity, and ask your provider about a chin strap or a full face mask.

The pressure feels too high when you start.

Ramp may be off. Set a Ramp Time in Comfort and press the Ramp key at bedtime. If pressure still feels wrong, talk to your prescribing clinician.

The pressure feels too low.

Ramp may be running. Wait for it to build, or set a shorter ramp time. If it always feels too low, ask your clinician to review your settings.

The machine keeps blowing air after you stop therapy.

That is the drying flow that runs after humidified therapy to prevent condensation. It stops on its own after a few minutes.

The water tank leaks.

Remove the tank, check for cracks and reassemble it correctly. Make sure you did not fill above the maximum line. Contact your provider for a replacement if it is damaged.

The screen freezes, goes blank or the dial does not respond.

Unplug the machine and plug it back in. If the problem continues, especially after a drop, contact your home care provider.

Travel and power

The iBreeze 20A is a full-size bedside machine of about 3 lb, and the manual mentions a travel bag in the box. Its external power supply accepts 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, so it works abroad with the right plug cord. The manual refers to a Resvent DC power cord and adapter cable for DC power and warns to use only Resvent's, but we did not find a published part number or a Resvent battery for this model. Empty the water tank before you pack or move the machine, as the manual instructs. We found no Resvent statement about FAA compliance for in-flight use, so check with Resvent USA and your airline before planning to use it on a plane.

Your sleep data

The iBreeze records to a Resvent SD card behind a door on the machine; to share it, stop therapy, push the card in to release it and send it to your provider in its folder. On the screen, the sleep report shows usage, average AHI, a mask fit rating and humidifier use for periods from daily up to 1 year. Resvent's data sheet lists optional WiFi and the ResAssist cloud system, with data sharing for patients and clinicians on Android, iOS and the web, and the US WiFi model is sold as IBREEZE20A-W. Resvent also has an R-Code feature that shows a short code your provider can turn into a report on ResAssist. OSCAR supports Resvent machines from version 1.5.0 (its release notes say "Resvent machines now supported" and later versions fix the iBreeze loader), and the loader notes say the iBreeze 20A works when you load its SD card.

Supplies that can help

Distilled water for CPAP humidifiers

Distilled water is what most CPAP humidifier chambers are meant to be filled with, because it leaves little or no mineral scale behind.

Replacement CPAP air filters

The air inlet filter keeps dust and lint out of the machine and your airway; it is a cheap part that needs regular replacement.

Heated CPAP tubing

Tubing with a built-in heating wire that keeps humidified air warm all the way to the mask, which is the main fix for rainout (water droplets …

Humidifier water chamber (tub)

The removable water tank of a CPAP humidifier; it wears and needs replacing, especially if it cracks, clouds or leaks.

CPAP chinstrap

A soft strap that supports the jaw to help keep the mouth closed, used mainly with nasal and nasal pillow masks to reduce mouth leaks.

CPAP mask wipes

Pre-moistened wipes for a quick daily wipe of the mask cushion, mostly to remove skin oils between proper washes.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Resvent iBreeze FDA approved?

Resvent USA says the FDA granted it an Emergency Use Authorization in 2020 to begin selling in the US, and Drive Medical's listing for the iBreeze 20A still cites that EUA. In July 2026 the FDA found the RXiBreeze PAP System (RXiBreeze 20C) substantially equivalent under 510(k) K253044. That clearance names the 20C, so ask your supplier about the regulatory status of the exact model you get.

Does insurance or Medicare cover the iBreeze?

Resvent USA says Palmetto GBA assigned HCPCS codes to Resvent CPAPs in July 2021, which lets suppliers bill insurers including Medicare. Whether your plan pays depends on your supplier and plan rules. Ask your supplier before you order.

Does OSCAR work with the Resvent iBreeze 20A?

Yes. OSCAR added Resvent support in version 1.5.0, and later releases include iBreeze loader fixes. The OSCAR loader notes say the iBreeze 20A works. Import from the machine's SD card.

What does "High Leakage Volume" mean on my iBreeze?

The manual lists two causes: the mask or tube is not connected properly, or the water tank is not fully in place. Refit the mask, push the tube on at both ends, and reseat the water tank. Running Mask Fit from the standby screen helps you check the seal.

How do I turn off Auto Start on the iBreeze?

On the standby screen press Comfort, turn the dial to Auto Start and choose Off. Auto Stop is a separate setting in the same menu. Both are on by default.

What kind of water does the iBreeze need?

Resvent says to use only room temperature distilled or purified water, filled no higher than the maximum line (290 mL). Empty the tank when you are not using the machine and before you move it.
