CPAP Data Missing or Not Uploading: How to Fix It
When your app shows no data for a night you used your machine, the cause is usually power, a weak wireless signal, airplane mode, or the wrong serial number in the app. For data sent to your provider, a poor cellular signal or a locked SD card are common reasons. Check those first, then contact your equipment provider or the manufacturer's support.
Signs
- App says the machine was not used last night
- Score not available
- Provider says they have not received your data
- Gaps in your usage history
Common causes
- Machine not powered
- The machine must be turned on and plugged in for data to transfer.
- Weak wireless signal
- ResMed recommends checking signal bars and moving the machine if coverage is poor. The AirSense 11 guide says to keep it on a bedside table, not in a drawer or on the floor.
- Airplane mode on
- Airplane mode stops wireless data transfer.
- Wrong serial or device number
- The numbers in the app must match the back of your machine. Data for a new machine appears only after you update these and use it.
- Account set up after use
- ResMed says myAir does not receive data recorded before you set up your account.
- SD card locked
- On the AirSense 11, a locked SD card shows a read only message and needs to be unlocked and reinserted.
Fixes to try, easiest first
Check power
Make sure the machine is plugged in and the power cord is fully inserted.
Move the machine for a better signal
Keep it on your nightstand, not in a drawer or on the floor. Check the signal bars.
Turn off airplane mode
If you used airplane mode while traveling, turn it off at home. Your user guide shows how.
Check serial and device numbers
Compare the numbers in your app with the label on the back of your machine.
Unlock the SD card
If you see a read only card message, move the lock switch on the SD card to the unlocked position and reinsert it.
Give it a night
Data for a new machine or account appears after the next night's use.
Contact support or your provider with your clinician
If none of this works, contact the app's support or your equipment provider. If your provider needs data for insurance, tell them quickly so the gap does not affect coverage.
Missing data is a technical problem, but tell your equipment provider and doctor quickly if you are in your first 90 days on Medicare or an insurance plan that requires adherence data. Missing records can affect coverage even when you used the machine. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms return.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my app say I did not use my CPAP?
The most common causes are no power, weak wireless signal, airplane mode or mismatched serial numbers. ResMed's troubleshooting lists all four. Fix those and the next night's data should appear.
Can I get data from before I set up the app?
ResMed says myAir only receives data from the day you set up your account, so earlier nights will not appear. Your machine may still store data your provider can access.
Does my provider still get data if my app is not working?
Often they receive data through a separate connection or the SD card. Ask your provider whether they are receiving your data, especially during an insurance compliance period.
