Usually suits

  • Mouth breathers who want a conventional over the nose full face seal
  • People who disliked forehead supports on older masks

Design

  • RollFit one piece cushion that rolls on the bridge of the nose
  • Advanced Air Diffuser for lower noise and draft

  • Easy Clip frame that fits all cushion sizes, no forehead support
  • Elbow and swivel; oxygen/pressure port connector available separately (REF 900HC452)

  • No forehead piece, so less contact on the forehead than older full face masks

  • One frame fits every cushion size
  • Still covers the bridge of the nose
  • Rated to 25 cm H2O, lower than some newer full face masks rated to 30
  • Headgear clips have to be unhooked to remove it

Finding your size

Use F&P's printable Simplus sizing guide or the myMask app. The low profile Easy Clip frame fits all cushion sizes, so changing size means changing only the cushion. Headgear is sold in S and M-L.

How to fit it

  1. Hold frame and headgear

Hold the frame in one hand and the headgear in the other, with one headgear clip already hooked onto the frame.

  2. Place the seal

Place the seal on your face and guide the headgear over your head.

  3. Hook the second clip

Hook the unattached headgear clip onto the frame.

  4. Tighten in order

Position the top strap when you first fit it, then adjust the lower straps to stop leaks. Forehead straps should rest horizontally just above the ears.

  5. Check tension

F&P says that when worn correctly you should be able to pull the mask away from your mouth without loosening straps or unhooking clips. If you cannot, it is too tight.

Common problems and fixes

Leaks after tightening harder

Over tightening folds the RollFit cushion and causes leaks. Loosen the straps until you can pull the mask slightly away from the mouth, then reseat it with the air on.

Mask hisses or blows air on your partner

Check that the diffuser area and exhaust holes are clean and not blocked by bedding. Never cover the exhaust holes.

Mask slides down at night

Make sure the ErgoForm headgear sits high on the back of the head, and give the hose slack with a hose management system.

Cleaning and care

F&P instructions: after each use, wash the mask excluding the headgear in soap dissolved in lukewarm water, do not soak more than 10 minutes, rinse thoroughly and dry out of direct sunlight. After 7 days of use, hand wash the headgear the same way. You do not need to remove the headgear clips or buckle to clean the headgear. Do not use products containing alcohol, antibacterial agents, antiseptic, bleach, chlorine or moisturizer, do not use a dishwasher, and do not use ozone or UV "CPAP cleaners" (the FDA warned about these in 2020).

Supplies that can help

CPAP mask liners

Soft fabric liners that sit between your skin and the mask cushion to reduce skin irritation, red marks and the noisy leaks some people get from …

CPAP hose management system

A stand or arm that lifts the tubing above the bed so it does not drag on the mask when you turn over.

CPAP mask wipes

Pre-moistened wipes for a quick daily wipe of the mask cushion, mostly to remove skin oils between proper washes.

Mild unscented soap for CPAP cleaning

Plain, mild dish soap is the cleaning agent most CPAP makers and the FDA point to for masks, tubing and humidifier chambers.

Frequently asked questions

Does the F&P Simplus have a forehead support?

No. The Simplus uses a low profile Easy Clip frame with no forehead piece, and the headgear sits high on the back of the head to keep it stable.

How tight should the Simplus be?

F&P says you should be able to pull the mask away from your mouth without adjusting the straps or unhooking the clips. Tighter than that usually makes leaks worse because the cushion folds.

Can I add oxygen to the Simplus?

F&P sells an oxygen/pressure port connector (REF 900HC452) through providers. Supplemental oxygen is prescribed, so set it up with your clinician or equipment provider.
