Philips DreamStation Go (CPAP and Auto CPAP)
How to set up the Philips DreamStation Go (CPAP and Auto CPAP)
From the box to your first night. Keep the user guide that came with your machine nearby: if anything here differs from it, follow the guide.
Check recall status
Find the serial number on the bottom and check it on Philips' recall site or by calling 877-907-7508. Talk to your clinician about whether to use it, use another device, or wait for a replacement.
Install a filter
One filter must be in place at all times. Slide a dry reusable filter, or a new disposable fine filter, into the filter access.
Place the machine
Set it on a firm, flat surface within reach and lower than your sleeping position, away from vents, heaters and air conditioners.
Connect power or battery
Plug the power cord into the back of the device and into an outlet not controlled by a switch. If you have the battery pack, fully charge it first (up to 5 hours), then remove the end cap and slide the pack on until it latches.
Connect tubing
Push the 12, 15 or 22 tubing type cuff into the air outlet port. Use the supplied mask adapter if your mask does not fit the 12 mm tubing directly. Then set My Comfort, Tube Type to match the number on the cuff.
Set the time
A pop-up may ask you to set the time. It is only used to line up your therapy data.
Start therapy
Tap the screen to wake it, put on your mask and tap the therapy button on top. Tap it again to stop. If the screen is dark, hold a finger on it for three seconds to stop therapy.
After setup: settings worth knowing
- Ramp start pressure and Ramp Time: Starts at a lower pressure and rises to your prescription over the ramp time.
- Flex type and Flex level: Exhale pressure relief. Level 1 is mild, higher is more relief, and you can turn it off.
- Mask Type: Matches pressure compensation to your Philips mask's System One resistance setting.
- Tube Type: Tells the machine whether you use 12, 15 or 22 tubing so pressure is correct.
- Check Mask Fit: 40 second leak test that ends with a green check or red X.
- Therapy Ring light: Keeps the therapy button light on or lets it dim with the screen.
Supplies that can help
The air inlet filter keeps dust and lint out of the machine and your airway; it is a cheap part that needs regular replacement.
The plain hose between the machine and the mask; it wears out and should be replaced on a regular schedule.
A padded bag that protects the machine, mask, tubing and power supply in transit.
