ResMed myAir and Philips DreamMapper: What the Apps Show
ResMed's myAir works with AirSense and AirCurve machines and gives a nightly score out of 100 from usage, mask seal, events per hour and mask on/off. Philips DreamMapper works with Dream Family devices and shows usage, mask fit and, if your provider enables it, AHI.
ResMed myAir score
ResMed explains the myAir score as points from four categories. Usage: 10 points per hour up to 70. Mask seal: up to 20 points for minimal leak, 10 to 15 for moderate leak and 0 to 10 for higher leak. Events per hour: 4 to 5 points if you have minimal events. Mask on/off: 5 points for removing the mask once or twice.
A high score means good usage and seal, but it is not a medical grade assessment. ResMed itself suggests checking with your healthcare provider about your events per hour.
Philips DreamMapper
Philips says DreamMapper lets you track daily therapy progress, set goals and reminders, read troubleshooting content, and generate reports to share with your care team. The DreamStation 2 can send data to DreamMapper over Bluetooth, with pairing done while the blower is off.
On the DreamStation 2, the AHI display appears only if your provider has enabled it, and mask fit is reported as good or needing adjustment based on leak.
How data gets to the app
Newer ResMed machines usually send data over a built in cellular connection, and ResMed notes myAir requires cellular connectivity that depends on network availability. Philips DreamStation 2 uses Bluetooth to your phone and also has a cellular modem.
Airplane mode stops wireless transfer. Data is stored and sent later when connection returns.
Using the apps well
Check the morning after any change: new mask, new cushion size, different humidity. If leak improves and usage holds up, the change worked.
If the app keeps showing high events per hour or poor seal for more than a week or two, call your supplier about the mask and your clinician about the events.

Frequently asked questions
How is the myAir score calculated?
ResMed scores usage (up to 70 points), mask seal (up to 20), events per hour (up to 5) and mask on/off (up to 5), for a maximum of 100.
Why does DreamMapper not show my AHI?
On the DreamStation 2 the AHI display appears only if your provider enables it. Ask your supplier or clinician to turn it on.
Does myAir work with any CPAP?

Can my doctor see what the app shows?
Your supplier and clinician usually see your data through their own portal from the machine's connection, not through your phone app.
